WCC provides a play based curriculum that is developmentally stimulating, and provide endless hands-on learning opportunities. We regularly incorporate nature, art, music, movement, science, early math, pre-reading, and pre-writing skills into play based activities. Our daily curriculum is based on the current season while closely following the children’s interests, and proving opportunities to broaden their knowledge base. Our morning meetings and group learning activities relate to our curriculum, and expand into areas that stimulate exploration of the surrounding world, and promote creativity. WCC uses the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS) as a guide in curriculum development.

While the goal is for all children in the class be accustomed to the same schedule, teachers and parents work together to develop an appropriate schedule based on the child’s individual needs, within realistic realms of the classroom.
