WCC hires the best-qualified teachers, who hold degrees in early childhood education, a related field or have an equivalent amount of education and experience. All teachers have either experience or training in early childhood education. Teachers must complete annual professional development activities required by the State of Vermont, and maintain current certification in First Aid and CPR certified. Teachers also must have a love for all children and the natural world. They must be patient, creative, loving and have a sense of humor as well as an endless supply of energy. Teachers design their learning environment around WCC’s guiding principle of “be safe, be kind, and be gentle”.

Teachers work together closely and get to know each of the children. Teachers help parents with information and resources regarding child development, behavior or in any way they can.
