Our Vision & Philosophy of Teaching...
The Waitsfield Children’s Center is a non-profit organization whose philosophy is to provide a high quality nurturing early childhood educational (ECE) environment. The Center offers daily preschool, infant and toddler programs that combine structure with a play-based curriculum. Our goal is to help children develop a positive self-image through the mastery of intellectual, physical, emotional, and social skills, in accordance with their different stages of development. We also act as an early childhood resource for parents and families, offering conferences, discussing development, making appropriate referrals, and lending parent books and magazines. Parents have free access to the Center at any time during our operating hours. We strongly encourage parent involvement in our daily program, i.e.: to visit for lunch, accompany us on field trips, bring in something to share for circle time, etc. The Center does not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, or income.
The Waitsfield Children’s Center strives to:
- Help children develop a positive self-image, nurture their individuality, foster their independence, and inspire a love for life-long learning.
- Hire, value and retain a highly qualified, dedicated and committed teaching staff.
- Create a positive, collaborative partnership with families to ensure the success of the children, teaching staff and Center as a whole.
- Instill as sense of respect, compassion and understanding for others, our environment, and the world in which we live.
